About The seed of image making was planted in me as a child, with the family room lights down, looking at my dad's camping photos shining through the dark onto a screen by his slide projector. I can still hear the mechanical clicks of the rotating slide carousel, and my excitement at a photo's power to transport. In 2004, 11 years after graduating with a BA in English from Carleton College in Minnesota, I traveled to the Rocky Mountain School of Photography in Missoula, MT to begin my professional image making career. In the years since, I've been lucky to work with clients large and small, in a number of media. Whatever the project, the constant is my passion for digging to the core of what needs to be communicated. That process of discovery, and the respect I carry for the mission of my clients, is the source of my work. Today I produce moving and still images. My core specialty is the intersection between people and food, which I get to explore for a number of commercial and nonprofit clients, as well as through ForagerChef, a web series I co-created with Chef Alan Bergo, and through my role as Director of Photography for Wisconsin Public Television's "Around the Farm Table."
